		<description>SolarSystems, the company which received $129m in funding from federal and state governments to build Australia’s first solar station just sacked 150 of its staff and padlocked its doors after failing to secure funding from private investors. 

This is an example of why the Rudd government need to take the reigns of these projects from the free market and private investors. The only way we’ll make any progress on the renewable energy front is if the Rudd govermment starts building green power plants itself instead of merely providing incentives for businesses to invest in them.
